{"id":105072,"date":"2026-03-23T14:51:00","date_gmt":"2026-03-23T14:51:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/e-gov.africa\/?p=105072"},"modified":"2026-03-27T15:01:31","modified_gmt":"2026-03-27T15:01:31","slug":"e-gova-2026-rescheduled-to-october-to-maximise-impact-and-participation","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/e-gov.africa\/en\/e-gova-2026-rescheduled-to-october-to-maximise-impact-and-participation\/","title":{"rendered":"E-Gov\u2019A 2026 Rescheduled to October to Maximise Impact and Participation"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>[Smart Click Africa] \u2013<\/strong> <strong>Yaound\u00e9, 23 March 2026<\/strong> \u2013 The Organising Committee of <strong>E-Gov\u2019A \u2013 the African e-Governance and Digital Innovation Summit and Expo <\/strong><strong>\u2013<\/strong><strong>,<\/strong> announces the <strong>rescheduling of its 2026 edition<\/strong>, initially planned for 14\u201316 May, to new dates: <strong>14\u201316 October 2026<\/strong>, at the Yaound\u00e9 Conference Centre, Cameroon.<\/p>\n<p>Held under the theme: <strong>\u201cArtificial Intelligence and e-Governance: Building Efficient Public Services in a Cashless and Paperless Africa,\u201d<\/strong> E-Gov\u2019A 2026 aims to bring together public administrations, institutions, development partners, and digital ecosystem stakeholders to accelerate the transformation of public services across Africa.<\/p>\n<p><strong>A strategic decision in a dense global and national context<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>This decision, formalised during a working meeting on 17 March 2026 at the Ministry of Posts and Telecommunications\u2014under whose high patronage the event is held\u2014follows a comprehensive analysis of both national and international calendars.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter wp-image-116251 size-full\" src=\"https:\/\/www.digitalbusiness.africa\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/03\/sm.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"1387\" height=\"924\" \/><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter wp-image-116250 size-full\" src=\"https:\/\/www.digitalbusiness.africa\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/03\/sm2.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"1387\" height=\"924\" \/><\/p>\n<p>The decision follows a strategic assessment of the national and international calendar, which reveals a particularly high concentration of major institutional and economic events in Cameroon during the first half of 2026.<\/p>\n<p>This context is expected to place significant demands on governments, development partners, private-sector actors, and the media, potentially limiting participation, visibility, and overall impact.<\/p>\n<p>Rescheduling the event to October ensures optimal conditions for stakeholder engagement, resource mobilisation, and international participation.<\/p>\n<p><strong>October 2026: a stronger platform for impact<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The new dates are designed to:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>maximize participation from governments, international partners, and private sector stakeholders;<\/li>\n<li>enhance media visibility outside peak event congestion periods;<\/li>\n<li>allow for a more ambitious and high-quality program, including exhibitions, policy dialogues, and technical sessions.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>A stronger focus on digital skills and talent<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Aligned with the academic and professional calendar, E-Gov\u2019A 2026 will also place a strong emphasis on <strong>digital skills, talent development, and innovation<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>Key highlights will include:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>a <strong>dedicated \u201cCampus &amp; Digital Skills Africa\u201d pavilion for IT schools and training institutions to showcase their programs and solutions.<\/strong><\/li>\n<li>a <strong>National Digital Talent Day<\/strong> (October 15);<\/li>\n<li>a <strong>student hackathon<\/strong> focused on public sector innovation.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>A leading platform for Africa\u2019s digital public transformation<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>E-Gov\u2019A is positioned as a leading pan-African platform to:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>advance digital transformation of public services;<\/li>\n<li>foster public-private partnerships in GovTech and digital infrastructure;<\/li>\n<li>promote innovative solutions (AI, digital payments, digital identity, cybersecurity);<\/li>\n<li>strengthen regional cooperation on digital governance policies.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Program highlights:<\/strong> two days of exhibitions, demonstrations, workshops, and high-level conferences (October 14\u201315), followed by a field visit day (October 16) to key digital transformation projects and institutions.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Call for participation<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The Organising Committee invites governments, international organisations, private companies, startups, academic institutions, and development partners to actively participate in E-Gov\u2019A 2026 and help shape the future of digital public services in Africa.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Media &amp;
